Oklahoma County ranked 12th in state for resident earnings in 2017


Oklahoma County ranked 12th among counties in Oklahoma by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Oklahoma County residents was an inflation-adjusted $27,867 per year. Oklahoma County had 296,818 households in 2017, with a population of 774,203.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Canadian County. Canadian County's median income was $32,505 per year after adjusting for inflation – $4,638 more than Oklahoma County. It had 43,878 households in 2017 and a population of 132,922.

Choctaw County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in Oklahoma, with a median income of only $19,006 per year. That was $8,861 less than the median income in Oklahoma County at the time. Choctaw County had 5,962 households in 2017 and a population of 14,979.
