About 32.3 percent of the 300 degrees and certificates handed out by Western Oklahoma State College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Altus conferred 97 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.
But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies. Data shows the school gave out 81 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies, followed by 78 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 19 associate's degrees in medical radiologic technology/science - radiation therapist.
The college enrolled 1,346 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
